You can see it from afar, the bright orange lettering that has recently been shining out into the world from Ostend: Life is too short for boring lighting. Here, in the city's old harbour, which is slowly being transformed into a modern residential area, Frederik Vercruysse has staged it like a sculpture, capturing what we believe in for all to see. Why Ostend? Because, like us, the city is a colourful mix of different cultures, people and ideas, and celebrates art with international street art. Where will our slogan appear next? It has been an incredible 14 years since we first collaborated with a street artist. That's why we didn't want to present a classic mural in 2026 and instead teamed upwith photographic artist Frederik Vercruysse. What convinced us? His quiet, almostpoetic works, in which light plays a very special role. They have made the Belgianartist, who is best known for his architectural and commercial oriented photography, an internationally sought-after star.
