Craftmanship as the foundation of interior architecture
Belgian interior decorator, designer and professor Christophe Gevers was born in Antwerp in 1928 and died in Braine-l’Alleud in 2007. His work was primarily based in Belgium and France, and his projects included both public and personal spaces – all of which featured his unmistakeable signature. Whether it was architecture or designing furniture and lighting, Gevers made a name for himself with his love of fine craftsmanship and technology. He embraced every challenge, becoming a master of his craft and a pioneer of modern Belgian design. To this day, his blending of form, function and elegance gives his designs a timeless quality.
„I believe I became a designer, because I was interested in the present, which is the future and the past out of date.“
Christophe Gevers
